Thank you for your leadership in moving S.B. 11 through the House! As a supporter of Sandy Hook Promise, I appreciate your work to prioritize student safety. I’m especially glad to see that S.B. 11 includes important language around an anonymous reporting system, which is an important tool in allowing students to share insights on their peers’ potential to harm themselves or others. The inclusion of language around suicide prevention and mental wellness resources is also great news; I'm glad that the Texas Education Agency will be required to share information on school-based programs that provide prevention or intervention services. This can help prevent violence and save lives in Texas. Thank you for your work on S.B. 11 and student safety!
