Urge your representative to sign on as a cosponsor of the STANDUP Act

As your constituent and a supporter of Sandy Hook Promise, I urge you to cosponsor the bipartisan STANDUP Act, HR7293/S2492. On September 9, the House Energy and Commerce Committee voted the STANDUP Act out unanimously. We need your support now to make sure it gets a vote on the House floor. As the pandemic has exemplified, there is a critical need for suicide prevention resources, especially for youths. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people, but it is preventable. The STANDUP Act would help certain states expand access to no-cost, evidence-based suicide prevention education for students in grades 6-12. These trainings can save lives and prevent tragedy across the country. Please cosponsor the bill if you haven’t already and call for a vote in the House.
