Urge your representative to bring the SAVE Students Act up for a vote in the House Education Committee!
Subject:
Your Letter:
As your constituent and a supporter of Sandy Hook Promise, I urge you to bring HB2873, the SAVE Students Act, up for a vote in the House Education Committee. This bill would increase access to lifesaving suicide and violence prevention education for Pennsylvania students in grades 6-12. Suicide is the second leading cause of death for young people ages 10-34 – but it is preventable. Evidence-based violence-prevention education covering social isolation, suicide prevention and student-led violence-prevention clubs can prevent tragedies. HB2873 positions Pennsylvania as a leader in protecting students, whether they’re at school, home or in their community. I encourage you to call for a vote in the committee.
